  • A certified Arabic/English interpreter/translator with substantial experience in legal, medical, technical, educational, business and conference interpretation and translation. An experienced interpreter trainer, and language teacher and educator with strong cross-cultural communication, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills.
  •  Native Arabic speaker, born and educated in the Sudan; lived and practiced teaching and interpreting in the Arabic countries and gained substantial experience in almost all Arabic dialects.
  • The first court interpreter to pass the Arabic Language Court Interpreters’ Certification Examination in the state of Michigan in 2001.
  • 20 years of interpreting and translation experience in the United States and overseas mostly in Saudi Arabia and Sudan includes legal, medical, conference, technical, scientific and business translation and interpretation with solid record of achievements. Provided effective and quick services to state & federal courts, government agencies, major law firms, hospitals and healthcare providers.
  • Michigan State Court Administrative Office approved trainer; taught workshops to aspiring Arabic interpreters on modes of interpreting, ethics, and professional responsibilities of court interpreters.

  • Currently work as a full-time English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher for the Coldwater Community Schools, Coldwater, MI since December 2002. The ESL program offers instruction in English pronunciation, grammar, writing, reading, speaking, and listening
  •  Helped the state of Michigan Department of Education translate, proofread and video-present the state high school MEAP Test 06 in the Arabic language.
